Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She is also the head of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely recognized as the pioneer of modern studies of the memory of witnesses and children as witnesses. Her publications are numerous, she has received numerous grants and has been the recipient of numerous awards both national and internationally. She has provided consulting on research and policy for numerous government agencies and departments from all over the world. She currently acts as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of many professional organizations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). Professor Goodman is a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
